I received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. I then continued my studies at the same university, completing a Master’s programme in the same department. There, I worked with Emre Bukusoglu on the synthesis of liquid crystal templated polymer microparticles. In 2019, I moved to Enschede in the Netherlands, where I began a PhD programme in the Soft Matter, Fluidics and Interface Group at the University of Twente’s Department of Membrane Science and Technology. I completed my PhD in 2024. During my PhD, I worked under the supervision of Jeff Wood and Rob Lammertink, investigating particle movement in different solute gradients to improve our understanding of diffusiophoresis and diffusio-osmosis phenomena. I started a postdoctoral project at the Technical University of Delft. My research here focuses on fluid transport through fiber bundles and the interfacial aspects of fibers in relation to a fluid. The project is co-PI with Prof. Valeria Garbin.
